I have written previously on the issue of the shortage of HGV drivers. This is a widespread problem, affecting not just the UK but countries around the world and is caused by many factors, particularly the impact of COVID-19 on the supply chain.

Figures revealed today show that unemployment in the Henley constituency has continued its downward trend.

Despite the general problems in the political world – both at home and overseas  – Henley showed that life continues with a well-attended Henley Show on Saturdy 11th September 2021. As part of this, John was invited to judge the heavy horses to select the most handsom and award the Boris Johnson

In often simplistic analyses, some are trying to blame the shortage of HGV drivers on Brexit and Brexit alone.

Parliament was recalled on Wednesday 18th August to debate the current situation in Afghanistan.  Although the House was full, I was able to make a contribution to the debate and I reproduce what I said below.

I am aware of the problem between the EU and the Serum Institute of India and provide here an up-date of my understanding of the situation. 

A pioneering new fund, the Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund, has awarded funding to 27 projects. These project are designed to drive private investment in nature and tackle climate change.

There are, perhaps inevitably, a wide range of views on the final stage of lifting COVID 19 restrictions on 19th July. I know that some people cannot wait for every restriction to go, some are concerned about specific situations, and others are worried at the easing of any further restrictions.
