I am writing this response in view of the emails I have received on a number of subjects to do with Brexit from the revocation of article 50 to a People's Vote. There are a number of points I would like to make.
I, too, wish to start by paying tribute to my right hon. Friend the Member for Chesham and Amersham (Dame Cheryl Gillan), and I am glad that all our thoughts are with her.
It is a great pleasure to serve under your chairmanship, Mr Rosindell. It is also a pleasure to follow the hon. Member for City of Chester (Christian Matheson). I agree with everything he said. I want to widen the debate on to an international stage.
I have welcomed over £24,500 to clean up high streets across South Oxfordshire, as the Government spends almost £10 million across England to improve local high streets.
Following on from Wednesday's parliamentary votes on the subject of no-deal, I think it is appropriate for me to clarify the content and the subsequent developments stemming from Thursday's votes in the House of Commons.
I have written to all schools and to the Diocese of Oxford to encourage them to support Young Climate Warriors. The text of the letter I have sent is below.
There has been an understandable degree of confusion surrounding the exact nature of the votes last night and I would like to take this opportunity to clarify what each vote accomplished, as well as which way I voted in each.
A number of people have written to me with observations on school funding. I am happy to respond with a detailed analysis. I do of course recognise that there are cost pressures on schools and I am doing all I can to raise these with the Department of Education.
