John visits Thame Youth Cafe

John took the opportunity of a parliamentary recess to visit Thame Youth Café which meets on a Wednesday afternoon. The café is one of Thame Youth Projects organised by volunteers to support young people in the town.

John congratulates award winning constituency dental practice

John has sent congratulations to Imogen Dental, based in Benson, on learning that they had won the 'Best Dental Practice (South East England) 2021' award at the annual Dentistry Awards event. These awards formally recognise excellence in dentistry. 

John comments on latest unemployment figures

The monthly unemployment figures just published show another fall in unemployment in the constituency. The figures show an overall drop of 40 across the constituency to stand at 1,345. This is half the UK claimant rate.

John comments on the Health and Social Care Bill

There has long been crossparty agreement that we need better integration of health care and social care. Indeed this is a key part of the NHS Long Term Plan first published in January 2019. It was NHS England and NHS Improvement who asked the Government to make legislative changes.

John welcomes new investment in The Henley College

With more young people continuing their education or starting skills training the Government has set aside £83 million to provide extra teaching space for school and colleges to suport this.

The Environment Bill latest amendments

The debate on the Environment Bill continues as it makes its way through the House with further amendments proposed to refine the detail of the BIll. This week John supported the Government’s amendment which will make a significant improvement to previous amendments.
